London news: Police lock down city street after woman, 19, found dead – murder inquiry | UK | News

A murder investigation has since been launched.

Police were called to the scene this morning at approximately 5am, after reports of a woman injured at a residential property in Sebastian Street, East London.

The woman – believed to be 19-years-old – was found with serious injuries.

She was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing but no arrests have been made so far.

Police are attempting to identify the woman and inform her next of kin.

A post-mortem examination will be scheduled in due course.
