According to unconfirmed reports, the incident happened near the tube station. Metropolitan Police officers, as well as paramedics from the ambulance service, are on the scene.

Over recent months, the capital has seen a wave of violent, knife-related crimes.

New data showed 2021 was the worst year for gun and knife crime in London, with a total number of 30 teens murdered in the capital.

Earlier this month, GB News host Mercy Muroki addressed Mayor of London Sadiq Khan and former Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis Cressida Dick – who resigned this month – for their failure to tackle the issue.

Ms Muroki did not hold back her criticisms on how both have handled gang violence in the capital, claiming that nothing had been done with previously drawn up plans on crime and violence prevention.

Mr Khan insisted he is trying to combat the violence taking place on the streets of London.

This month, the Mayor of London announced he had added an additional £50m to try and help to tackle crime across London.

The latest financial investment is set to be spread out over the next three years.

The money will also help to build grassroots crime prevention projects across the capital.

Mr Khan said: “The funding will empower local authorities to tackle violence in their area, reduce offending in their communities, and support victims locally.

“We know the challenges of the pandemic have exacerbated the causes of crime and violence and that’s why this investment is so important and so timely.

Mr Khan added: “This new funding package of almost £50m will provide dedicated funding for local authorities now and allow them to work together to tackle complex problems across borough boundaries and support local communities to tackle violence and reduce offending where they are.”
